Chimney pots are both a design and safety feature on chimneys. In addition to lending style and authenticity to a European cottage, chimney pots prevent rain damage to a chimney's brick, mortar, liner and firebox. Pots also prevent small animals from building nests in the chimney, blocking the flue. A chimney's draft is improved and the risk of roof fires is also reduced with special spark arrestor screens located within the pot.
